DV's birthday!!!

Today is DV's birthday 3rd birthday and we have had a wonderful day, although very busy!

For breakfast we enjoyed fresh Belgian waffles (made on our new waffle iron, which was an anniversary gift to ourselves.)

We drove to the Naval Air Station to visit the National Museum of Naval Aviation and then had lunch at a local restaurant which features a sand play area!

When we returned home DV opened his gifts- he really loves the play cabin and the new red wagon.

Finally, we had dinner and DV actually blew out the candle on the chocolate cupcake with red icing!

What a day!!

Oh, and to top it all off, we had a storm after dinner and lost power for 3 hours- the only bad part of a wonderful day!

IV's Birthday celebration!

We had a very fun day! Even if I did end up driving about 4 hours... and IV drove some too!

I am SO glad we are married!

Today we are going to the National Museum of Naval Aviation and then out to lunch at the beach.

IV has taken the day off! And, DV has been looking forward to going to the "airplane museum" all week.

Actually, he's been looking forward to going there again since IV took him one Saturday when I was working at home.

"Dead Worms"

That's the theme of DV's birthday BBQ.

Interesting, huh?

We went to visit my grandfather in Florida recently, and DV was captivated by the dead worms on the sidewalk.

You see, in Florida (at least where I grew up) the worms come out in heavy rain and then the sun comes out and bakes them.

I think it's pretty gross, but DV was captivated. He still talks about his dead worms. Every day.

So I guess that's how we came up with the theme- I asked him and he answered.

He remembers too.

At least I have an idea for cute cupcakes... I've already bought the gummy worms and Oreos!
